WORKSHOPS: Terms & Conditions
1 - Reservations & Payments
A deposit as indicated on the registration form is required to confirm your reservation for the workshop. Final payment in full is due upon acceptance to the workshop. Miami Photo Fest and the Florida Photographic Foundation, Inc. reserves the right to cancel a reservation if full payment has not been received by 5 (five) days after the acceptance date.
2 -Cancellations and Refunds
Miami Photo Fest and the Florida Photographic Foundation, Inc. reserves the right to cancel this event with less than 10 participants. In the event of cancellation students will be given at least 4 week advance notice and a full refund. All cancellation notices must be received in writing via email 30 (thirty) days prior to the workshop.
Refunds to those applicants who cancel their workshop participation 30 days prior to the date of the workshop will be refunded any deposit, and any additional payment, less an administration fee of $100.00.
No refunds of any amount will be made to persons who fail to provide written notice of cancellation, or who give cancellation less than 30 days prior to the start of the workshop or begin a workshop, but fail to complete the workshop.
3 - Basis of Rates
All prices are quoted in U.S. dollars; all payments must be made in U.S. dollars. The workshop fee does not include airfare, transportation, accommodation or ground expenses. For International applicants, Miami Photo Fest and the Florida Photographic Foundation, Inc. is not responsible for reimbursement of travel expenses in case the workshop is cancelled.
4 - Insurance
For International applicants, Miami Photo Fest and the Florida Photographic Foundation, Inc. highly recommend that you buy refundable tickets and/or travel insurance. Camera equipment, computers, and baggage are carried entirely at the owner's risk. Miami Photo Fest and the Florida Photographic Foundation, Inc. shall have no responsibility for any lost, damaged, or delayed property, or for an individual student's medical needs, accidents, injuries or illnesses.
5 - Intelectual Property
By entering this contest you retain your rights to your photograph; however, you grant the Florida Photographic Foundation and Miami Photo Fest (and those authorized by the Florida Photographic Foundation and Miami Photo Fest) a royalty-free, world-wide, perpetual, non-exclusive license to publicly display, distribute, reproduce and create derivative works of the entries, in whole or in part, in any media now existing or later developed, for any the Florida Photographic Foundation and Miami Photo Fest purpose, including, but not limited to, advertising and promotion of events and its website. Any photograph reproduced will include a photographer credit as feasible. The Florida Photographic Foundation and Miami Photo Fest will not be required to pay any additional compensation or seek any additional approval in connection with such uses. All entrants understand that any image submitted to the competition may be used by the Florida Photographic Foundation and Miami Photo Fest, and its Event Partners, for marketing and promotional purposes.
6 - Itinerary Changes
Miami Photo Fest and the Florida Photographic Foundation, Inc. reserves the right to change or alter the program advertised.
7 - Passports and Visas
A valid passport is required for all travel. Participants are required to contact the appropriate consular office for entry requirements for their workshop. Participants are responsible for obtaining their passports and visas. To participate in the workshop, you must have a passport that is valid until at least six months after the date on which your trip is scheduled to be completed.
8 - Medical Issues
All participants must be in good health. You must advise Miami Photo Fest and the Florida Photographic Foundation, Inc. of any health condition, physical condition, or emotional or mental condition that may require special attention or that may adversely impact the other participants in your workshop. All students are required to complete a "Waiver of Liability" form during the first day of the workshop.
9 - Responsibility & Photography
To ensure a safe photographic experience, you are required to obey local customs and be considerate when photographing people or sensitive locations. The faculty member for your workshop has the right to expel any person from the workshop for behavior that is in violation of the law; that is disruptive; or that compromises the group's safety or enjoyment. No refunds will be made to any person expelled from a workshop. Miami Photo Fest and the Florida Photographic Foundation, Inc. shall have no obligation to pay any costs incurred by a person as a result of that person being expelled from a workshop.
